One of the questions we get asked the most is \u201cShould we keep the bathtub?\u201d\u00a0 So many of the homes in our service area were built in the late 80\u2019s or early 90\u2019s and come equipped with an oversized bathtub.\u00a0 Does this sound familiar?\u00a0 While the idea of taking a relaxing soak sounds perfectly wonderful, the reality is most of us don\u2019t use these big tubs (except maybe for storage)!\u00a0 We are seeing so many of our clients elect to remove the tub in place of a larger walk-in shower.\u00a0 These clients were no exception!<\/p>\n
The Problem<\/u><\/p>\n
These clients reached out to Novare to remodel their original, 1990\u2019s, Master Bathroom.\u00a0 The bathroom fixtures were completely out of proportion to the size of the bathroom.\u00a0 One whole side of the bathroom was taken up by a big cast iron tub and oversized linen closet.\u00a0 The opposing wall had a toilet, small shower, and tiny, single sink, vanity.<\/p>\n

The Solution<\/u><\/p>\n
The first step was to reconfigure the layout of the bathroom.\u00a0 Since we were removing the tub, we decided to take that space and put in a large, 66\u201d long, walk in shower.\u00a0 We borrowed some space from the linen closet since it had room to spare.\u00a0 The toilet remained in its existing location and we were able to fit a 7 \u00bd foot long vanity, with two sinks, next to it.<\/p>\n

The Details<\/u><\/p>\n
The homeowners liked soothing, cooler tones for in this new space.\u00a0 The new shower features an off-white ceramic tile with a decorative floral border in a calming turquoise blue.\u00a0 With the increased footprint, we were able to use larger shower floor tiles, a linear drain and dual shower heads.\u00a0 Everything is tied in with a bench in Cambria\u2019s Summerhill.<\/p>\n
The custom vanity is painted in Ben Moore\u2019s Revere Pewter and the quartz countertops match the bench in the shower.\u00a0 Polished nickel accessories and cabinetry hardware compliment the other selections.\u00a0 The vanity light with glass knobs matches perfectly with the medicine cabinet hardware.\u00a0 Finally, we painted the vanity wall Ben Moore\u2019s Providence Blue and the remaining walls in a lighter palette, Glass Slipper.<\/p>\n
The Results<\/u><\/p>\n
We truly maximized the space in this remodel and gave the homeowners a subtlety elegant Master Bath that will bring them enjoyment for many years to come.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
